The Seoul Kids Activity That’s Actually Two Things at Once
There are days in Seoul — rainy July afternoons, the kind of August heat that makes going outside feel genuinely unreasonable, February cold that turns a ten-minute walk into a negotiation — when you need an indoor plan that will hold a toddler’s attention for more than forty-five minutes.
Sangsang Sketch (상상스케치) at Yongsan I’Park Mall is that plan.
What makes it work isn’t one thing — it’s the combination. A 50-minute guided sensory art class, followed directly by 40 minutes of free play in an indoor kids’ café. Two activities, one visit, one price. Our child was occupied and happy for the full ninety minutes, which, on a rainy weekday in Seoul, felt like a minor miracle.
How It Works
Each session runs about 90 minutes total.
The first 50 minutes are an instructor-led sensory art class — a different theme each time, so repeat visits don’t feel repetitive. Activities rotate through things like finger painting, watercolor, bubble foam play, seasonal art projects, and various forms of genuinely messy sensory exploration. The point isn’t a perfect finished product. It’s the process, the materials, the texture of paint between small fingers. Children who don’t know they love art usually discover it here.
The remaining 40 minutes are free play in the attached kids’ café — ball pit, sand play, slides, climbing equipment, pretend play spaces, and toys suited to the toddler and preschool set. It has the feel of a proper play space rather than an afterthought, which matters when that’s where the session ends.
If your child wants to keep going after class, the optional slime or clay workshop costs an additional 16,000 KRW and is particularly popular with slightly older children.
The “With Mom” Class
At 11:00 AM, there’s a designated “With Mom” session where one parent joins the art activity alongside their child.
For toddlers who take a little longer to warm up to new environments and new instructors, this makes a real difference. Being able to sit next to your child, try the activity together, be the familiar thing in an unfamiliar room — it tends to unlock the whole experience for kids who might otherwise hold back. We did this version on our first visit and it was the right call.
Admission
The 90-minute program (art class + kids’ café) costs 28,000 KRW per child. One guardian enters free for children under 48 months. Additional guardians are 4,000 KRW each.
For what you get — a structured art class and a full play café session combined — it’s genuinely good value by Seoul standards. The optional slime or clay add-on is 16,000 KRW extra.

A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Go
Dress for mess. Whatever your child wears to the art class will likely show evidence of it. This is not a complaint — it’s a sign the class is working — but white tops are inadvisable.
The art theme changes regularly, so if your child loved one session, the next visit will be something different. We’ve found this keeps things fresh rather than feeling repetitive.
It works well as a rainy day plan, a too-hot-to-be-outside plan, a too-cold-to-be-outside plan, or just a Tuesday when you need something structured and enjoyable. And since it’s inside I’Park Mall, you can combine it with lunch or errands without making a separate trip.
